For the very first time, the upcoming issue of Sweet July magazine will showcase an adorable family photo of cookbook author and founder, Ayesha Curry, her husband, Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry, and their three children – Canon W. Jack, Ryan Carson, and Riley Elizabeth. This exclusive family photoshoot ahead of the holiday season will be featured in both PEOPLE and Today. Published by Meredith, the Food issue (available on newsstands Oct. 22) depicts the Curry family preparing to indulge in a holiday-themed spread filled with delicious dishes. The issue is a celebration of food, family, love, and the power of storytelling through culinary experiences. As Ayesha puts it, “Food is a vessel for storytelling and connection, which is illustrated through the pages of this issue.”
As she discusses her thoughts on the current season, she takes a moment to reflect on the lessons that the pandemic has taught us. She emphasizes the importance of accepting that things don’t always go as planned and reminds us to be patient with ourselves and others.
Despite the challenges we’ve faced this year, she acknowledges that it’s still important to celebrate, and that the true value of any celebration lies in the intention behind it.
Ayesha has created her own brand, Sweet July, which she considers a love letter to her hometown, Oakland, California. The name was inspired by her personal connection to the month of July, as it marks her wedding anniversary and the birthdays of all three of her children. The flagship store located in Oakland offers products from her own line, as well as hand-picked items from Black-owned businesses and local Bay Area creators. Aside from her brick-and-mortar shop, customers can also purchase her products online. In April of 2020, this lifestyle expert launched her magazine that centers around food, family, female empowerment, and self-care tips from her own perspective. Her publication also features her own recipes and kitchen advice in each issue.
